    Default Portacot mattress?

Does anyone know where i can get a reasonably priced mattress or padding of some kind for a portacot?

The mattresses at clark rubber are $100 which is way out of our budget for something that is hardly ever going to get used

I had a portacot with a thin mattress. I used to lay a folded up towel or blanket on the floor where the cot was to be sitting and just put the cot on top. Worked fine.

We got a piece of foam from clark rubber for $25 i think it was. Not too thick or spongy (about 5cm thick i think), but enough to soften it so it's comfortable. Still going strong when we need to use the portacot. They had them precut to size too.

We have a porta cot foam mattress we got from a baby store. Maybe try your local baby store if you have one in your area? Ours cost about $20

is there any reason you dont or cant use the mattress that comes with the portacot?

My Mum bought a piece of foam rubber cut to size from Clark Rubber but it didnt breathe at all and my kids both got really hot and sweaty when sleeping on it, yet in our portacot that we used the thin barely padded mattress with they were fine.

I just use the thin one that comes with it and I also have a padded soft sheet thing you can buy for them. I'll try and find a pic of one!
    It works a treat!

Just cause it seems super thin & uncomfortable with a big fold in the middle. I dont think it will be easy teaching him to sleep in the portacot anyway so i wanted to make sure he wasn't uncomfortable etc. Ill try it without anything though & see how he goes
