Default can hospital refuse to give me C sec.

Hi there I had first child nearly 4 years ago and due to have 2nd child (and final) in a few months time.

I sustained a 3rd degree tear with my first child stitches busted after 10 days was left scaring and a cavity next to anus. Still slight leakage of anal fluid all day long.

I had a anal scan recently the woman doing the scan said everything looks perfect according to the ultrasound but she can see the scaring and cavity. She said she will not write that she recommends a c sec on the report.

I have paperwork from previous hospital that says I had 3rd degree and 5hr+ of stage 2 labor etc.

Can this hospital tell me I must birth naturally I am in Sydney and going to a public hospital.

No. A previous 3rd degree tear is a reasonable reason to have an elective caesarean.

they can refuse, but wtih a 3r degree tear and scarring they will usually advise a c/s.

That decision will be made by the Obstetrician though, not the ultrasound technician who writes the report, so I wouldnt worry too much about her not recommending it on the report
