Bub only gained 61g which isn't the worst but on the low side. Boot camp must be slowly working but not quite enough. They have asked me to give him 2 x 60ml formula a day. They did say incl my expressed but I think I'll give it to him in addition to my 90ml expressed. I hope he doesn't get upset tummy from the formula 😓 But they said at such a low volume he shouldn't. Sigh! I wish I had enough milk! I gave Bub 60ml expressed as soon as I got home today and he went straight to sleep. No crazy crying!!
Bbhope how is Bub feeling today?
@Tanej78 hope you had a nice day with hubby today!

Day 5 blasto FET on day 4? #2
Hey girls.. I couldn't read and not comment. @Gelati.. We cycled together in Oct last year. Congrats on your DS!!
As others have said this is right in the middle of the "4th Trimester". Bub has no idea that he is even a separate being from you. These weeks are for comforting and being as close to bubs as possible. So many people try too early to space out feeds and start a a routine but this time is vital for bonding and establishing milk supply. Feeding on demand is crucial at this stage so don't be afraid to hold him and let bubs snuggle all day if he needs to.
Some tips for getting to sleep.
- Babies LOVE white noise. Download the app "Sound Sleeper" and play it while holding him or rocking the bassinet. My DD loved the Vacuum cleaner sound. That app was a life saver.
- Buy a carrier like the Ergo 360 and go for a walk either in the house or outside. He will feel a lot calmer next to your chest with movement so should sleep. Also great for Dad's!
- can DH settle after you feed? Sometimes better for someone else to do it.
- Go for a drive in the car. Most babies love it and sleep well as newborns.
- Relax if you can. You're his mum so I'm SURE you're doing a great job. Follow your instincts even if it's against the grain of what family or others say. He's your son so have confidence in yourself to know what's best for him. ❤️ nothing wrong in holding him all day if he needs it.
The first year is about slowly prising yourself away from your baby after him being part of your body for 9mths. Little by little and very gently while keeping a strong bond with no pressure for routines or forcing him to be too independent.
I posted on here at 3 weeks as I wasn't enjoying motherhood. It was so hard at the beginning. I can promise you tho that a lot falls into place at 6-8 weeks. They start smiling and feeding falls into place. Before you know it he'll be 4 months and SOOO much fun. My DD is my best friend in the world now and I miss her when she sleeps. It will go very quickly and then you'll be like me - Sad he's grown so fast.
Good luck with it all and PM me if you need to. Motherhood is hard and every day is different and they are always changing. My DD still wakes up every 2 hours now!
Big hugs xxxxx

@amiracle4me: thanks for popping in. Your encouragement is needed. I really hope that the hardship during the first 6w pays off when i could see bub first smile.
@Gelati; i don't want to jinx myself....bub hasn't had too severe episode of stomach pain today. We changed a lot of things since yesterday so we aren't sure what might have helped. We are now certain that he has silent reflux which is bothering him and keeping him awake a lot. We have moved his 6w check to this week at 5w+.
I'm not the best model for you in term of BF. From the sound of it, your supply isn't that bad. Perhaps you should consider mortilium. It certainly has helped me but not enough to keep up bub demand. You are doing a good job. I gave up the boot camp pretty quick for my sanity. I am quite proud of myself forl keeping up the BF even though it isn't enough. I nearly gave up at 2w. I am happy to do bottle because i can have a rest when DH is home and with my mom helping at the moment. Of course, it doesn't stop the guilt when bub started having trouble with formula or whatever is causing his tummy pain. My friend made me feel better by telling me that BF is not problem free either. It depends on your diet. How you store the milk. I find the storing and expressing process are less sterlized than preparing bottles.

@amiracle4me thanks for the tips.
@Tanej78 hubby not in Melb again now. When is he back again?
@bbhope sounds like things get better everyday as you discover how to make it work for your Bub.
@Apples1234 good luck with your cycle
@Gelati did Bub sleep well last night?
I'm 35 weeks. All good. Vaginal swab next week then see OB again. Bub is still heads down and will stay down. Not engaged yet. Not posterior or anterior. She's transverse apparently. Spine on the left and legs on the right while head is down. OB said Bub can switch posterior or anterior during labour so it doesn't matter right now.
