That's totally what I looked like at my wedding.

OP, just a cocktail length dress will be fine (I've attended many a country wedding) with shoes, normal heels are fine as are wedges but do take a decent coat!

That's awesome. I'm totally accessorising with a beagle, turkey and shotgun Although turkeys are hard to come by at the moment. Do you think a swan would be suitably on trend? pelican?

A pelican would work. Adds a lovely aquatic feel to the ensemble!

And a lovely aquatic aroma no doubt...

Browsing clothing websites and looking at what apparently constitutes casual/weekend wear has been a wake up as to how daggy I really am! I think this wedding outfit could be the least of my worries and I might need a complete clothing intervention

Have you had a look at Birdsnest website, they show you full outfits based on occasion, helpful for the fashion challenged. As far as I can see no Pelican's included however...

Yep! I'm off to try this dress at a local stockist

I was originally thinking if something a bit more, I dunno, floral(?). But if this is flattering it will probably get repeat use for work, evenings out etc. Even if I don't like it, it's a step forward in finding a style/fabric that will work

Metalicus dresses are great, so easy and wash and wear.
