I've never tried watercolour...it sounds like fun though I guess they might take a while to get the hang of.

I would love to get my paints out too sometime.
@Californication they look like fun. I've only had a quite flip through as I want each page to feel new/exciting when I start it. I'm going to work my way through the book from the start.

I have the Derwent studio 36 pack (from Officeworks). Last night was the first time I'd used them since buying them. I think I need to get used to them as using pencils is so different from the Faber Castell pens that I've been using.

Are the Derwent artist pencils softer? I bought the studio ones because the pack said they were good for fine details but I find the leads quite hard.

@Cat74 I don't think the artist are softer, not noticably.

@AdornedWithCats, thanks. I just wish you got to try before you buy so you know what you're getting!

The pens glide beautifully; the pencils seem a bit rough to me but I think it probably is because I'm used to pens and I LOVE them. I just don't have enough colours and can't seem to buy the additional colours that I want. 😕

I probably should do that too, but there's some that don't appeal as much LOL.ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1440378764.392023.jpg

This is my first attempt, I have the Crayola 36 pack of pencils, but I also bought the neon and metallic pencils as well. I have 3 colouring books and have ordered 2 more from the book depository.

I hope to be able to get a pack of 72 Derwent pencils as well as their metallic ones in the next few weeks.

I haven't coloured the background of the first one. It would have been better suited to pencils with such a large area of nothing.
