Default Child support and step children

I am now financially supporting my stepdaughter who we have on a 50:50 basis (no child support agreement in place). I also have my own children on a 50:50 basis who I pay child support for. Does anyone know how easy or difficult it is to get the CSA to take step children into account when calculating child support?

As far as I know they don't. Your biological children only.

Everyone's situation is different so I'm not sure if this is the case for others however when DP and I had our DD the child support he provides was going to decrease by something like $5 a week. I don't thing he even bothered getting it changed it was so minimal.

They won't take step children into account because technically you shouldn't be financially supporting them. They will only take YOUR biological children into account. If you were to have another child with your new partner they would take that into account but not your stepchild, which is the way it should be. Why should your other kids miss out because you want to support another person's child?
