Df and I have no idea where we want to go (not OS though) and our only firm idea at the moment is this place in Northern nsw- http://www.ccrr.com.au/index.html

We are looking for somewhere relaxing and luxurious that wont cost the earth. Recommendations please!

I should add that our wedding is late August next year and while we are Victorian and used to the cold, it also means we usually go to warmer locations if we can
But thank you for the recommendation

Denarau Island, Fiji. We stayed at the Westin for 3 nights/4 days.

It was awesome. Warm but not too hot (October), slightly overcast so didn't really need sunscreen.

I liked that there were 4 other resorts nearby and we could use their facilities/eat there as well as our own hotel. I liked that there was a bus that went every hour to Port Denarau. I liked the calm, relaxed and friendly environment, cleanliness, and peaceful privacy (rooms are more like villas).

I didn't like that we had to have a booking for most restaurants. I didn't like that it was a cash-free resort (everything, including a coffee from the bakery, went on the room).

Loved the service though- maid came daily and arranged our towels in a heart shape, and we got a complimentary bottle of wine each night (told them it was our honeymoon at check-in). Breakfast was buffet-style until 10am and it was soooo good. It was included in room price too.
Lunch we had at Port Denarau (lots of places to choose from and quite cheap). Dinner at a different place each night.

It was a family friendly place too but the kids were always kept occupied by camps, etc, and there was a big water park nearby.

Next time we will take the kids- they'd love it.

ETA: incl flights it cost about $1500 for both. Another $800 in room charges (we bought gifts and stuff) and we had $2000 cash with us (minus the 800 we paid at the end, we still went home with about $650).

If you want warmish weather maybe Whitsundays or there is a lovely new boutique hotel in northern NSW, called Halcyon House which I am desperate to try.

We've holidayed in Cairns before, and I really enjoyed it. It was my first suggestion but DF was saying we have the whole of Australia- why go back when we can try something new? I get his point but... I do really like Cairns

We had our honeymoon at Noosa, which was a lovely week filled with great food and wine and a little bit of beach time. But that time of year I'd go to Cairns, specifically Palm Cove. Chilled out vibe and just beautiful. But honestly anywhere up that way would be fantastic that time of year. We went to stay on Fitzroy Island at that time of year three years ago and we were in the water snorkelling and swimming!
