Default What do flybuys and everyday rewards cards actually do?

I scan these things religiously when I go shopping, but lately I've been wondering what the rewards are supposed to be?? It doesn't seem to give a discount at all. Am I missing some fabulous website where I can buy things with points or something or other?!

you can use the points to buy rewards, including gift vouchers, or money off your shop at the teller. we're sitting on around 22k points which is roughly $200. last time I used the points to get a $250 Coles voucher but thinking this time I'll use it for money off my shop at the teller. May as well start using the points as they're just accruing and I may as well get some value out of it.

have you logged in online to view your account? you can redeem rewards etc this way.

we've also got our flybuys linked with our private health insurance and gas & power bills so we get points every time we pay any of those bills in addition to buying groceries.

it's worth getting it set up properly to maximize your points and cash in on rewards as much as possible

Everyday rewards is a bit more complicated.

You set up that automatically send you out a voucher every few months.

Flybuys is fab! Over the years I've gotten at least $1000 worth of rewards from them.

Everyday rewards- I have no idea! I have a card though I think because I signed up one day to get a member only special. But besides a few cents off here and there, I haven't seen any benefit...

I prefer flybuys over my everyday rewards card even though as a woollies staff I get 5%off I actually get more rewards@coles. Everyday rewards you can also change from receiving discounted fuel for points instead, helps rack up points. Coles have the vouchers in their receipts too that gives you 1000 points when you spend $150. That's halfway to $10 off shop.

You can link everyday rewards to a qantas frequent flyer account (You can just set one up) then your points become frequent flyer points that you can redeem that way

Yes this is what I have done. Adds qantas points to my qantas frequent flyer card.
Also some items at woolworths are cheaper for everyday rewards card users.
Slightly off topic but I wish flybuys did the fuel discount on the card instead of the annoying docket.

What do they do? The collect information on your spending habits for market research to enable targeted marketing. Sorry the cynic in me.
