I did mine the other day (it's legit)

it's not a copy of your credit report (you need to contact Veda for that) but it'll give you a score. if the score seems out of whack with what you'd expect, you can look into it further.
I've got a hard copy of my credit file outlining everything from Veda, had to wait 10 days for it to be posted out. It was free but they usually charge unless you've been declined for credit in the last 90 days. I did the quick check on their website beforehand for a rough idea.

That won't necessarily make it dodgy. It will just mean for the next few days after you use the site you'll be inundated with promotional emails selling you financial counselling and other similar products. If you unsubscribe they should stop.

I wouldn't personally use it but maybe Google reviews of the site to see what others have thought about it.

It was more that they said they would disclose my personal details for business and marketing purposes.

I guess it's not urgent I'll just contact Veda directly for a full report.

But you only give them your email and mobile when you apply? I'd guess that's extent of the personal details you are agreeing to disclose. But I agree if you're not in a rush I wouldn't use it.

Could your partner apply for you in order to get the credit you need?
Unfortunately I'm the only one out of us who could apply for credit, I might have to either try one of those credit repair places or go through a lender who considers bad credit. But I suppose if they saw I had no defaults or bankruptcy that I would have a good chance.

It even puts a negative mark if any lenders or creditors make an enquiry on your file, with or without your permission apparently. Although I read somewhere this morning, that if they've done it incorrectly or without permission it can be contested.

Default Found out why my credit rating is so bad

Has anyone's credit rating affected their success in renting a house? I'm just mainly worried that the agent is going to check mine and think I don't pay things on time, but I guess I could print a copy and hand it in as proof of why it's so low?
