    What did your DH say?
Not saying anything reinforce the idea that people agree with him.

I wouldn't give my business to any company that has racist believe and a sole trader would be no different.

If Coles was supporting rec|aim Australia would you still shop there?

Dh said something along the lines of "I don't agree with you. The things you are talking about can be explained by other things than being Muslim that could be situational or cultural ,(a but more here that I can't recall)" then mower man started saying stuff about things that are in the quoran and dh said "well there is some pretty whacky b stuff in the bible, we don't go around stoning people who eat shellfish" and then he bowed out.

Haha, had to laugh at this! Your DH handled it very well I think.

Personally, I think I would give the guy one more chance, and if he brought it up again I'd let him go on the spot. I respect that other people have different beliefs/opinions to me, but if they're trying to force those beliefs/opinions on to me when I've made my position clear, then I'd cut contact.

Whist I believe everyone has a right to an opinion that stops at hate speech and discrimination. Those that are saying he's entitled to his opinion would you be saying the same thing if he said all women are lower class citizens?
    I would ditch him

The thing about opinions though is that you can't stop someone from having one. Even if their opinion is racist, etc. You can't police people's thoughts and tell them they're not allowed to think something because it's wrong and not socially or morally acceptable. So they are entitled to have that opinion. They're just not entitled to try to force that opinion onto others or hurt others with it.
