This morning im having a bit of a freak out.. Late last nite I looked at the photo I took of my follicle u/s yesterday.. (Cd6) & realised that Yeh I have 17 follicles BUT they are ALL <10mm!

I had looked at it briefly yesterday as I took the photo on my way up to see the FS nurse.. And thought it was saying they averaged 10mm.. Now I've realised its <10mm I feel sick to my stomach with worry!! Does that mean I'm not really responding well? After 4 injections of puregon 300 should I be concerned that none of the follies are bigger?? I feel so stupid for not reading the u/s slip properly yesterday.. I told my DP that all was looking good.. Now I'm getting anxious that actually it's not so good & feel like I should tell him.. But I don't wanna stress him out as well...
@Charlie74 Day 4 is very early to have a scan so I'd say it sounds about right so far. When is your next scan? You could always give the nurses a call and ask them if you are really worried.

@Charlie74 its fine at that stage - on my first scan at the same time my largest was 10 so all others were under that. The first scan there isn't much to see, its the next ones where you'll see some more major growth and you will start to get a picture of what to expect. Don't stress! Poor response is when there aren't many follies at all, you've got 17 so I would think you won't have any trouble getting a decent egg haul. The first cycle is a bit of a test to see how your body responds - my first one got cancelled due to poor response but you seem to be going well so don't stress out. Is your next scan tomorrow?

I've never had a scan till about cd8 or 9 and my follies were under that or only just around the 10mm mark. If they didn't call you yesterday and tell you to up the mess then you're doing ok. Were you on a long down cycle? That can make for a slow start. I would say you're doing well. Remember you aren't going to ovulate so it's not going to matter if you stim for a day or two longer xxx

4 days is REALLY early. If I had that many around that size at day 4 I'd be happy.

yeah, I'd be amazed if I had 17 follies. those sizes sound right for an early scan. my first scan was a few days later and I only had some 9/8/10/11/13s. they might have just wanted an early scan to check if there's any follies at all, and you have heaps. they'll grow quick enough. your later 2 scans (even just the last scan) is more of an indicator, for when you'll trigger. I think you're doing fine, so time to relax now

@Charlie74 It means calm the fruck down Luv ok??😉😁 Agree with the other Girls that everything is on track with your follies @ where they should be for the corresponding day ok??😊

As @Chiefsgirl said, if your FS were worried they weren't growing as they should be you'd be told to up your dose of FSH. They don't just use the scan measurements to determine that all's as it should be, they also look at your E2 levels as well in combination with the follicle measurements.

Pls don't compare yourself to your friend as we're all different which is why some Girls will tend to stim for a shorter time than others while some may stim for a few days longer. It's not good or bad, it's just an individual thing. I know it's hard not to stress @ be anxious Luv but you have to try to find a way to surrender yourself to the process as many things (like how fast your follicles grow @ how you respond to the meds) can't be controlled by you.

You'll see a bigger difference when you have your scan @ BT on Sat😊 You're doing beautifully Luv thus far allright??xo

Charlie, I'd say you're now feeling the effects of IVF that you were worried about not feeling last week Those drugs make us erratic, teary, irrational. Please don't compare your cycles to anyone elses!

I can't remember is this your first round? If so they scan you far more often to see how things are tracking, how many more scans do you have? I remember when I swapped specialists my first cycle with the new one I was having scans every second day - you're specialist will tell you if there is a problem, if you are concerned, please ring them or your nurse and ask for an answer to your questions, they are totally used to it.

Please don't panic or despair, they will tweak your protocol if they need to.

    Em x

Charlie your first scan was very early in my books. I usually have first scan in about cd 8 or 9 last time it was on cd8 and I had already had a week of elonva from day 2 and prev cycles had about 6 or 7 days of gonal by then. Not sure why thry scan so early?
