Ladies, what did you do for cash when in CT? I hope to use my cards as much as possible & will notify the banks that I'll be in CT for a week. But I'm not sure how much cash to take with me from Oz or just withdraw it from an ATM when there?

Congrats @wazbub 😀 @Tahli i think we bought the equivalent of around $500 last time and burned through that no problem. I used my credit card a lot though and am trying not to this time, only for the hotel and CFC. Don't let anyone anyone in a restaurant walk off to swipe your credit card. Escort it everywhere. Not that I'm paranoid after the last trip lol

I am yet to go Tahli but will be heading off in Oct . U can go to Westpac and get a travel card for $10 setup fee and load Rand on to it . U can then use that as a credit card and saves u having to use ur cards and potentially having details stolen like I read happened to someone on here . It will also save the 3% fee to convert currency everytime u use ur Aussie cards over there . Westpac is the only bank I could find that offer Rand .

First trip Charlie. We spent close to 5 months looking for the right donor. We wanted someone that was proven in that they had donated sucessfully all the way through to birth and that has similar features to me. It was highly frustrating at the time but i now feel like it was the right strategy.

Yeah that was me. You can also go to the post office and get a travel visa. I've used them a lot in the past. You just BPay however much money you want and then draw from atm while os
