I didn't think it did and I don't have a child at school yet but I was at a party last night and a friend of a friend was irate as she just found out her BIL best friend hooked up with her sons 3rd class teacher - not so much the hook up but the revelation that this girl is apparently a known "party girl" who sleeps around and does cocaine and stupidly sent naughty naked pictures of herself to this guy who then proceeded to send them to all his mates - she's got a copy of one and is saying she's going to show the principal and that she doesn't want her son around this teacher - before this apparently they loved this teacher ( private school teacher so not sure if she would get fired for the pictures?)
Would it bother you if you found this out about your child's teacher or it's irrelevant what they do outside school ?

I probably wouldn't be impressed no. I don't think drug taking is really what you want in the life of your child's teacher!

She will probably lose her job at a private school. I think she was very unwise and should try harder to protect her anonymity and privacy. I never ever drink in public because I am likely to see family of students I teach. It's not illegal to drink but I feel judgements would be made about me. Illegal activity is something different, I realise that, and I do think she made a terrible decision.
However it doesn't mean she's a bad teacher. I also I think teachers should be judged on their ability to do their job on a daily basis. It's a hard one to balance.

I don't have any school aged children but I think it's a sliding scale. if I found out the teacher was doing anything illegal, I'd report it immediately. hooking up with party girls and partying at the weekend, well I'd say probably most teachers in their 20s do at least a bit of this. so long as their conduct on the job is professional and their partying is not interfering with their ability to do their job, it's probably not anyone's business what they do in their free time. as you say, you've only found out about this by chance. of course nobody has to approve or like it, but is he really doing anything wrong by the kids by acting up on weekends?
I'd be inclined to leave it. not every teacher a child has is going to appeal to every single parent. so long as they're behaving professionally and there's no complaints from the kids that the teacher is acting weird, I'd just bite my tongue and sit the year out.

I'd have more issue with the BILs best friend than with nude pics and s3x.
Though the cocain would be a problem. With no evidence though it's just hearsay, and if people are happy to pass around nude pictures of the teacher, then it's possible the drug taking is complete crap too.
Eta: I'd also have more of a problem with the friend of a friend. What disgusting behavior, to pass around a nude picture to someone, especially the persons boss. One that was supposed to be private.

So all they have is nudie photos? And nasty gossip about taking drugs and being a "party girl"?
That to me is no basis to to go and report someone, in fact I'm quite disgusted she is planning on doing so- sending nudie photos may be dumb but certainly not illegal, and for all they know the other stuff could just be lies... By going to the principal she is doing little better than the nasty man sending these photos to everyone, spreading gossip that may or may not be true with the potential of ruining somebody's life or livelihood.
Personally I think it's nobody else's business unless it personally impacts on their ability as a teacher. I feel so sorry for the younger generations having to deal with this kind of cr@p.

For doing drugs yes I would want her fired. For being a girl that likes to go out drinking and sleeping with random guys wouldnt bother me as long as it wasnt affecting her job.
I have a friend that is a wild child but is a fantastic hard working teacher

I was a full time classroom teacher from the age of 22, &I still went out drinking from time to time. Sometimes with a couple of teacher friends! Thank god a parent never came across us out drunk and partying. I was an excellent teacher &was very professional in my work place. I never brought my personal life in to my work - its not like I came in to thw classroom & said "hey kids, I was so totally smashed on saturday night, & MrsD. made out with this really hot guy!'. Teachers are people too &they have a personal life. As long as they are peofessional at work, &try not to put themselves in a situation where students etc will see them drinking, no problem. The illegal behaviour &drug taking would bother me though, but depends if it is 'rumour' or fact.
