I'm considering moving and ttc atm. Frankston may end up being my local public hospital. I'm looking for opinions and experiences of those who have given birth at frankston hospital recently.
My last child was born at the royal womens in 2014. I'm a medium to high risk patient due to a blood disorder.
I have the option of going private but i was wondering what the local public was like.

I haven't personally given birth there but have friends that did.
as far as I know the maternity ward is much better now after the upgrades

When was it upgraded?
Anyone know the number of private rooms?
Does anyone know if they take on complicated cases or do you get transferred to Monash or Royal Women's?

It was upgraded a few years ago. I've heard all positives from there. They even do water birth!

I had both my DS's there. Like all hospitals you get your good and your bad midwives, if you are too high risk you will get sent to monash but honestly frankston is so well equipped for most situations
As for private rooms there are generally for csection mums, mums who have issues or twins. It's pot luck.
My second labour was 3 days there and I had to fight for it as they are very stuck in their policies. But I had some awesome midwives fight on behalf of me and were fantastic.
