We are considering amoung other suburbs moving to Seaford Vic.
I'm looking for advice as to the suitability of this suburb for a young family.
I'm looking at a property close by to Seaford primary school in a street behind the seaford station.
I'm liking that i could walk my child to kinder or primary school, husband can take the train to work and local shops seems to have all we'd need and of course right near the beach. Frankston shops, cinema and aquatic centre 2 stations away. I don't drive so having all these things within walking distance is appealing.
Is the area 'rough'? I've heard that mentioned. How rough? Or is that outdated and has the area improved? I'm seeing property prices increasing.

I've lived in seaford for majority of my life.
I live over the other side of the freeway and it's a very quiet neighborhood mostly older families now.

From what i know of Seaford, it has improved a lot in recent years. It's one of the last beachside suburbs in that area that are still somewhat affordable. There are still not so good patches, but I think that overall the suburb is pretty family friendly now. The beach there is fantastic!

How do you guys find the vibe around the station and the shops? Ever feel unsafe? Would you feel fine walking alone from the station after dark?

Is the beach patrolled most of the time in good weather?
Do you notice if the weather is cooler in Seaford than other places in melbourne due to proximity to the water?
