I am hoping people will realise its pronounced the same as island. Surely people wouldn't think someone would call their child "iz-la".

DD is Isla. No problems with pronunciation as of yet.
We still get told what a gorgeous name we've picked and how it suits her very well.
We are really happy with it and still absolutely love our name choice!
It's also spelt Ayla in some Turkish countries I believe. Isla means 'island' - who'd have thought. Ayla means 'the halo that surrounds the sun and the moon'. But we preferred Isla's spelling.

Girls Name HELP!
. I like Isla over Demi, much more feminine and I love "pretty" names!

I don't like Demi at all. It reminds me of an obnoxious big brother contestant.
I love Isla, it's so pretty, feminine and girly.

I love them both, I'm surprised at all the Demi hate! I think it's super cute and girly!
My cousin is an Isla, my Aunty called to tell me the news, after we'd had a text, and said, it's a girl! Her name is Izla! To which i responded, I think it's Isla Lol!
