So hubby told his sister that we are doing ivf later this year and that's the reason we are not coming on her two week wedding cruise. He explained we want to save the money and annual leave (in my case - hubby runs his own company) for ivf and the timing won't work for us.
Her response:
Oh I don't know why kitty would want to go through this as she already has step children in their teens which is awkward. I would never do ivf. It's not natural. She should just relax and it will eventually happen.
See this is why I didn't want hubby to tell but rather make up a bs story.
She is unbelievable.
My response: so you tell me that you would never do ivf even if that was the only option?
Her: no never because I know it would eventually happen when it's meant to happen and maybe it's not meant to happen for some people.
Me: sure. Easy for you to say in retrospective as you have 6 kids already and yeah thanks maybe I am not meant to be a mother.
Wtf

She said WHAT?
What a rude, insensitive and thoughtless human being.
Please know that she is an idiot and try not to take such comments to heart. She obviously has no clue what it's like to struggle to conceive. Shame on her.

Omg i have no words! So insensitive! Don't listen to her!
I wish you luck in your ivf journey!! One of my good friends is finally pregnant after her 6th round! It's tough but totally worth it!
Ps. Expecting people to go on a 2 week wedding cruise seems a bit extravagant to me i would never expect people to do that for my wedding. But that's just me.

I more or less stopped talking to my sister in law as she is a spoilt *****. She was pregnant my last cycle (currently in 2ww cycle 2)
And on day of my transfer she carried on like a mole and made it all about her. She does this every time. And her husband and mummy and daddy let her.
Do what's right for you and to hell with what she thinks. I have 2 teenaged kids to a previous relationship and my partner of 7 yrs and I have no kids one m/c 3yrs ago
I dnt care what people say it's none of there business
Good luck to you and your husband xx
