    Default 6yr old troubling behaviour!

This is my first post & I'm hoping to find some answers My son has recently being diagnosed with adhd! He has signs of other things as well & are seeking professional help. He hits me & his 4yr old sis yells at the drop of a hat. He seems always angry if things dont go his way. Doesnt talk to anyone apart very close fam & never has? It really troubling was wondering if any other parents have similar concerns or advice. Tried ritalin 10/ now dex but he is still very aggressive and defiant.

What do you do when he exhibits bad behaviour? Many people will go on about trying special diets etc, however I am a big believer in figuring out what makes them tic, rewarding good behaviour and punishment or loss of privileges for bad behaviour. Also teaching them what is expected of them. Sorry he has been diagnosed with adhd . Makes it tough for both of you.

Thank you yes positive praise is big in my house also making him aware of actions have consequences by taking game away etc. Try to stay calm & not react neg as well gets tough when the behaviour takes its toll mentally. I love him so much & making sure he know this is important too. Just hopefully we can help him get some peace also!

It might be worth looking into diet. There's tons of anecdotal evidence suggesting that it can be very helpful to cut out certain things that cause issues

Thanks Ruby, I hear that alot. His diet consisted of basis food as he wont try new foods. Doesnt like the look, colour or texture so its difficult. Just got him to eat mashed pot & corn with his nuggets which is a breakthou.

You might want to edit out your sons name.
