Progesterone is Day 21. Estrogen is what they test to see if you have produced a follicle prior to ovulation

I haven't heard of getting it tested in that situation. I think most people get scans instead?

I used to get my estrogen tested and if numbers were low the cycle wouldn't proceed, if the numbers were good but not high I'd get retested 2 days after and if my numbers were great I'd go in for a scan.

Most times that I produced a follicle they were around 500-600. I don't understand why yours needs to be at 1000

@No3please Did you need to take provera to cancel the cycle, or just wait it out when the numbers weren't high enough?
My estrogen didn't rise above 170 - even cd15, so they said they were cancelling the cycle (no more monitoring) and told me to wait it out. That was nearly two weeks ago, I have been temping and I haven't had a rise yet. I thought I'd need provera, I don't ovulate on my own. I'm really not sure if I should be expecting af even though I haven't ovulated? Would love insight from someone who has been through it before
