    Vaccination is a topic that arouses quite a degree of passion, it certainly does with me too. I am still at the hospital with my little man and having seen so many sick kids over the last week, it breaks my heart. I can be quite blunt in my views, I normally try and temper that a little, but right now, I'm too tired and emotional from seeing my little man struggle to breathe (from an illness that is nowhere near as bad and dangerous whooping cough) to even try:
    - I would rather have a cranky baby with a mild temperature for a day or so following an immunisation, than a critically ill or dead baby after no immunisation;
    - although the one study that tried to link autism to vaccination has been disproved countless times, just to address the issue, I would rather have a baby with autism post vaccination than a dead baby that wasn't immunised;
    - we have all benefited from an environment free of heartbreaking conditions such as polio BECAUSE our families got us immunised, and there is now herd immunity. I want to do my part to eradicate the remaining devastating illnesses that place my baby and other babies at risk;
    - for a very long time our babies have no immune system, we cannot protect them from exposure to things such as measles unless we literally live in a bubble. Herd immunity provides the only/best protection, parents choosing not to immunise (as is their right) prevents herd immunity and means my baby is at risk and there is nothing I can do to protect him.

    Hi Ladies
    Hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread, i have just found this forum.
    We are heading over to Greece in October with Dr Nikos.
    We found out after 6 failed fresh ivf cycles and a change in FS that my eggs were the problem. So really looking forward to the opportunity that awaits us in Greece.

    Although I do not (yet) have a baby to consider, I must say I agree wholeheartedly with Vixjc's views on this... I don't even miss out on vaccinations for my cat!!

    Probably from 24/10 but will get final dates nearer the time. We will be flying to the UK before that so will be able to book flights to Athens at short notice. You?

    Welcome Kategc.

    We are planning for end of sep, early oct too but at the mo we have to wait and see. My TSH results (thyroid) have come back terribly low. I had a normal level about 8 months ago before starting ivf but my FS said i should take some thyroxine (thyroid hormone) as pregnancy requires a whole lot more of the hormone to exist in your body. I took them for 6 months and after deciding to go DE I just stopped. Apparently that was not a good idea. You need to reduce gradually if you are not planning for pregnancy. I just stopped because I dont like pills and didn't think it would have an effect if I had a normal level before.

    Long story short I have been very lethargic and ill ( depression like symptoms) for the last 2 weeks and my whole system is out of balance. Now they have to build my level back up to 15 which could take anywhere up to 3 months....
