    Default Taking Oripro Progesterone pessaries

Ok maybe TMI but the ob said no sex whilst on them. That was ok when I was meant to take them for a week but now I might be on them another month or 6 weeks. Why can't you have sex on them? I'm on two a day and can't find any info as to why not?

I'm taking them because I'm pregnant following a mc. My progesterone started off ok but started to dip and has been a bit low. I'm guessing it's something to do with the mc risk? Dunno. Might ring the OBs secretary and ask, although feel a bit awkward. He told me really quickly about the pessaries and then said no sex , then his assistant went through how to use them in more detail and reiterated no sex while using them.

I was on oripro and was not advised to abstain from sex. Although I did most of the time due to my history of recurrent miscarriage.

Possibly the advice is to prevent stimulation of the uterus from the oxytocin produced. Not necessarily the pessary itself?
