It's like that in real life too, so I just sort of roll with it. Although, if people are being vindictive or really nasty, I will call them on it.
As for your thread, *shrug* you asked for opinions, this is what happens.

I agree totally, sometimes I thing BH should just be exclusively for certain members as no body else's opinion seems to matter but theirs. I thought you were really attacked in that thread for no reason at all, it took a really unexpected turn!
I keep thinking I should leave BH too but I enjoy reading the threads, don't really participate unless I think it will help somebody.

Sometimes people are blunt and rude all in the name of being 'honest'. I think that you can be honest without being mean, nitpicky and snide. In my opinion that's where a lot of the hurtful comments come from.
And I disagree that when someone asks for opinions its open slather for a thread getting nasty. When its clear that someone is getting upset, or has said that they're feeling attacked and hurt then people should take that into account and moderate their tone. There's no points for 'winning' at all costs.

I can highly recommend a hiatus.
I'm back from about a month break. I found it good to have a break, it's healthy not to become too invested in people you don't know's opinions.
I've been back a few days and I'm just going to see how it goes.
