My parents got a top loader LG a couple of years ago. We also got an lg almost 2 years ago, its a front loader though but we love it.

I have a LG combined washer / dryer and do not recommend them. It washes clothes well but doesn't dry them well at all. For over $2,000 one would except something much better!

We got a Fisher & Paykel 7kg WashSmart (I think it's called) last year and I'm pretty sure they do an 8kg and 10kg version as well. It's been great, I really like it.
