    Default Panadeine forte and breastfeeding on demand

    Hello ladies, so i have a small dilemma and am unsure of what to do. I have a very painful infected wisdom tooth and have been prescribed anti biotics and panadeine forte. Both the doctor and pharmacist said that i should take the panadeine forte between feeds for my 6 month old, however she is demand fed so really there is no accurate way of knowing when she will want me again.
    Also I have never had codeine before and I don't know how/if I will react! So should i just put up with the pain or maybe try half a panadeine forte?

    try half after a feed. Is bub doing any weaning yet? if so maybe try and distract with some finger food. as far as I know it has no negative side effects on bub. Might make her a bit drousy.

    Panadeine forte is safe during both pregnancy and breastfeeding, therefore if you take it and she needs a feed it should be fine I'd just concentrate on keeping yourself comfortable.
    Codeine may make you a little drowsy so you can always start with half a tablet and see if you need more.

    I'm sure when I was in hospital just after having DS they gave me panadeine ( paracetamol plus codeine). Eat lots of fibre when you're taking codeine as it can make you constipated!

    Thanks evereyone! I think i will wait until dh gets home from work before I take any, just in case I get to drowsy!
