    Default Wwyd....Croup

    My 5 yo dd has croup. The home visit Dr just left but the chemist closed 15 minutes ago. I have a bottle of predmix in the fridge but it expired in Feb. Dr wrote a script but I can't fill it until morning. My option are see how she goes and head in to hospital if need be, or give her the premix which may have reduced efficacy. Dr said it is our call if we want to use out of date medication.

    Should I give it to her or see how she goes?

    He said she had the worst croup cough of the night - what an honor.

    I'd find a 24 hour chemist, send DH out to fill the script

    Sorry, I just realised that's obviously not an option!

    I'd give the medication, if the doc said there's no side effects from taking expired medication, it has to be better than nothing? My 4mo just had croup, a mild case but it's horrible. Good luck!

    Id use the medication and keep hospital as a worst case scenario option.

    Hopefully the medication does the job for tonight
