IVFstruggle: it's all sounding like good news! My first scan was at 7 weeks but that was done in Moses' rooms. After that I was discharged from his care and went through the midwife program. So my first scan with Siles was at 12 weeks.

Blue246: I'm heartbroken for you, it's absolutely devastating. I'm so glad they will be doing some testing and do hope that comes back with some clear answers for you. I had no idea false normals were possible, it's awful that it wasn't explained at the time. Thinking of you xx

So sorry @Blue246. There are no words at a time like this. It sucks and it isn't fair. When you analyse IVF and "normal" pregnancy it amazes me how anyone has kids at all. I hope the procedure went well and you and DH have some time to heal. The testing helps with every little piece of the puzzle. I had a endometrial biopsy to test for NK cells. Mine were normal. At least Moses is leaving no stone unturned for you. I did consider seeing Dr Matthias in Sydney for a phone consult regarding reproductive immunology at one stage. I wasn't sure.
@ivfstruggle huge congratulations!! Great news! I had my scan spot on 6 weeks at Siles. The recommend 7 weeks but I convinced myself I had an ectopic so moved it forward! I was with Kate.
@Spec how are you? Is your little one turning one soon?
My appointment with the OB went well. Quick scan, all going well. Had 3 days of horrendous morning sickness - luckily passed. I was not a happy woman! Praying it does not come back. I work all day with a mask on and every breathe I vomited a little.....I was picturing a very very ugly scene vomiting with a mask on.....

@Blue246 i'm so sorry what an awful thing to go through. I was just saying to my partner the other day how i have no idea how i would cope with something like that as you get so attached. Hopefully with all the tests they maybe able to determine the cause and ensure it doesnt happen again for you!
I got a positive on Friday but my progesterone was low so i have another blood test tomorrow. I was on the crinone twice a day and progynova 3x a day. They asked me to put the crinone up to 3x. I went to pick up my script but now i have had a positive it was $347 for a box that would last me 5 days!
I called Monash as i cant afford that every 5 days and the nurse just asked me if i had a credit card. I wasnt too impressed at all! If i had of known that i could have got it last week when i hadnt had my positive when i had already told them i was running out for the $30 or whatever i used to pay. I am very annoyed they didnt tell me back then that the price would go up!
So i had to switch to pesseries as they were much cheaper. 3 a day, 3x progynova. Has anyone had low progesterone? I have no idea what it means so im not sure if i should be worried of miscarrying. The nurse didnt seem concerned about it, but then again she wasnt too concerned when i told her i couldnt afford $347 for 5 days for god knows how long.

    Hi @ivfstruggle,
I needed to get more crinone after my positive test and I still was only charged the $30ish per box. Did your specialist provide the script? Maybe call the reception at specialist rooms and ask directly whether it should still be bulk billed?
I have used both crinone and pessaries in the past. As for low prog, lots of women have naturally low levels in pregnancy and it's fine. They put you on supplements to stop period bleeding as a just incase measure. In one of my previous miscarriages, my prog levels dropped from <100 to 50ish at about week 5 so I was put on pessaries. But as it turned out, it was prob my first indication that my body knew the preg wasn't viable and was preparing for miscarriage. I think prog levels are more of an indication of a potential problem when they have a big drop. Having low levels all the way isn't as big of an issue so long as they stay the same or slightly increase.

Thanks @Blue246. I'm 5 weeks 5 days today however had some bleeding and sharp pains last week so had an ultrasound last Thursday exactly 5 weeks which looked good and blood test the next day which was good. I am having worse cramping and bleeding now but still not as if i was having a period. It's weird but i don't feel 'pregnant' anymore. Last week i was feeling sick in the mornings and now i just feel back to normal. I don't want to call Monash again because i feel like i'm annoying them but if i still feel like this in the next few days i might call and just ask for a blood test before my ultrasound next Thursday. My mum is coming with my partner aqnd my MIL works at Siles so the last thing i want is to find out there and would rather find out on the blood test if there's an issue. Maybe i'm just worrying i'm not sure but after trying for 2 years i feel like something will go wrong. Just having a moment today!

    Hi @ivfstruggle,
I totally get your feelings and doubts. At the same time, it's likely everything is ok. Absolutely ask for a blood test if you want to. You pay so much for the service so don't feel like you can't ask. You could ring your ivf specialists rooms directly and ask them to fax a blood test script straight to your local pathology (bypassing Monash). Moses' receptionist has done that for me in the past. Or any gp can order a hcg and prog test for you. However ultrasounds are the best indication so you'll prob still feel stressed until you have an ultrasound that shows one way or another what's going on. I have unfortunately had good looking hcg results right up til 8+ weeks but an ultrasound tells a diff story. Best of luck. It will be a crappy week of waiting til scan, been there many times! Thinking of you and wishing you all the best. Xx

    Hi ladies.
    Hope you are all well.
@ivfstruggle how is everything going? Did you have the extra blood test?
@Blue246 how are you? Where are you at with everything? I hope you are taking time to care for you.
    @Spec hello!!
Afm I am having my 12 week scan today. Had nipt blood test which is low risk (surprising since I am 37). And it's a boy. I found out - since we had pgd testing I rang Monash to find out what sex was transferred a few weeks ago.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone else too and where you are all at.

    Hi Girls,
Yes I am just getting on with things for now. Will hopefully find out this week if this one was chromosomally normal or not (even though it was PGD tested normal). Will wait a couple more months to have another try and really believe that our lovely 3 yo son will be enough for us if that is hoe it pans out.
@sunny79 that's so exciting! A gorgeous little boy! Wonderful news and looking forward to hearing about scan.
