Thanks for checking in on me lovelies.
Umm, I hope I will be ok but we have had a bit of a setback.
I had a biopsy of my new kidney a couple of weeks ago because of some odd blood test readings and the biopsy showed signs of rejection.
This happens in about 15-20% of transplant patients and is basically just my immune system trying to boot this foreign object out of my body. In most cases it's treatable with massive doses of steroids and other anti-rejection drugs so that's what we've been doing and honestly the treatment has knocked me around quite a bit. I have basically no immune system so have picked up every bug going around plus the side effects are a bit yuck but hey if it works, I'll take it.
I have to have another biopsy on Friday and we'll see what that tells us.
It really is just a waiting game which is hard and the whole thing is just so disappointing and frustrating and scary.
I hate being away from my family and the thought of going back to where we were just makes me want to take to my bed so yeah, I've probably been a bit of a cranky old b1tch and should stay out of controversial threads for the time being!
So yeah, that's what's been going on.

I'm so sorry to hear that it hasn't been smooth sailing. I guess it's a pretty huge deal for your body to get a new organ so hopefully this is just a small bump in the road.
