No I'm not believing one over another, just confused now as I've been told that the ultrasound is only 85% accurate and acupuncture is about 90%. My gut feeling all along is that this baby is a girl, so just wanted to know if anyone else has been told the wrong sex at the ultrasound

I never knew acupuncturists could tell gender. Anywho, id probably put my money on blue. Will you be having anymore scans before you have your baby?

If an acupuncturist could tell the sex by your pulse everyone would be doing it!

DH and I didn't want to know, but the Ob quickly pulled the scanner away and said "oh - you didn't want to know the sex, did you?" DH and I later admitted were both sure that we saw a doodle. We weren't told exactly, but it was pretty obvious. So - our darling daughter - has a name that I would never have agreed to at the time (but suits her perfectly now). Just make sure that you have an alternative name you both agree to in case. Blue onsies look gorgeous on little girls

I'm wondering if the pulse theory relates to the Ramzi research? Basically it found in around 97% of cases that gender could be predicted by the side of the uterus that bub was on (link here: http://www.obgyn.net/articles/relati...%80%99s-method), so maybe the pulse is stronger (??) on the side that bub is implanted on...

The pulse theory would make sense if it was related to that.

Otherwise I'd straight up believe the sonographer.

I dont know how ultrasounds could be 85% accurate ..i mean, i could literally see the wrinkles on my babys little balls.

    Lol

Maybe the 15% accounts for bubs that are misbehaving and hiding their bits.

My DS showed his bits in all their glory at 14 weeks, lol. But as it was so early we were told it could still be wrong. Then at 18 & 20 weeks he was upside down so his bits were dangling and they weren't quite sure. So I think it does depend on angle/position, etc. At 22 weeks he was basically sitting on the US so we there was no question then!

Yes I believe if the pulse is stronger in the right wrist it's a girl, and stronger in the left means a boy http://www.chinesegenderchart.info/pregnancy-chart-gender-selection/pulse-and-pregnancy

At my 20 week scan we told her we wanted to know the gender. All she did was get the ultrasound picture up and she said nothing - as soon as I saw it I said "well, that's a boy!!" I knew immediately and I am in no way trained in ultrasounds. She just laughed and said yep, no denying that one! If the tech wrote boy, believe it, I knew as soon as I saw the picture on screen.

    Congrats! Boys are awesome
