While obviously it wasn't nice the dog got hurt I felt so good reading this thread. So lovely to see you not only take responsibility for your dog but to do so without anger or resentment. Your dog bit the other dog you stepped up and the universe gave back with a half price vet bill

    Default I'm responsible right?

Your so responsible and lovely to have helped with the other dog.

Just a thought but could you be in the very early stages of being pregnant? That is the only time my dog has ever become aggressive towards another dog was when I was 4-6 weeks preggers. Exactly the same with both pregnancies

Just an update for those who may be interested. We saw the owners of the dog at the shop yesterday and went to say hi and ask how their dog was. I have been intending to call again. She's made a full recovery and is doing well. We had a chat about it all, I'm so grateful that they were reasonable. So relieved!

Our dog is hating her muzzle on her walks, but it has to be done.

Such a good thing for you to do. Having your dog bite/be bitten is awful on both sides
