I would suggest a home cooked meal/meals and a beautiful card, or perhaps a special plant/tree they can plant in memory of their child.
Those poor folks, how devastating

Something in memory of bub? Maybe a nice plant they can keep, a teddy bear, or there is someone who does beautiful sunset/sunrise photos with baby's name in the sand at the beach which are a beautiful keep sake.
So very sorry for your friends loss. How heart breaking.

My sil sent us a teddy bear with our little boys name and dob on it and a little message printed on the back. When a friend lost her 18mth dd we organised to have a star named after her

I personally wouldn't get a plant in the memory of someone, because if the plant dies, it will just hurt even more. Just my opinion.

I would suggest some groceries and maybe some homemade treats.
I think the task of just surviving is hard enough in this situation so don't underestimate how helpful buying some milk and bread would be (prob some Tim tams as well)

Definitely food. Friends also gave us a star named after our child (as a pp suggested) which was just lovely. I wasn't a fan of teddy bears and keepsakes but that's just personal choice. The Carly Marie sunset names at the beach are also beautiful as a pp suggested. But in the first few weeks after their loss, they won't be up to taking care of themselves so food is greatly appreciated
