    I used to work gov, drove the gov car regularly and run some of the gov car auctions. All the cars came with full service history & well looked after. The cars even have full logs of who drive the car, when and how many km's, not that they would give you those details.

    Yes I would. Buying a second hand car you run the risk of it being 'flogged' regardless of who owns it.

    Yeah I would buy one. Then over with them is usually short to minimize wear and tear. You'll be able to see full service history as well.

    I've seen cars flogged from many different gov departments. There's no guarantee that it's from x department that it's better than another. Some governments (like qld) hold onto their cars longer now so they'll be going onto the market at a higher mileage.
