'He didn't meet requirements' I'm thinking perhaps not a permanent resident or maybe had worked in a professional kitchen?

They said that they require their contestants to not have any formal/commercial cooking experience, and that Mario had informed them that it was not the case for him. So he's probably worked in food service before which would disqualify him.
Probably should have mentioned that before getting picked for the Top 24..

Yeah you'd think that would have come up before now.... Unless they wanted the added drama..?

Yeah it would have been for added drama.

I'm loving the dishes that are being cooked this year. My favourite is already 'Mum-says-no-Reynold'.

    I'm out.

DH and I bailed out after what we perceived as it being 'rigged'. Our opinion is that they wanted a particular contestant in the top 24 even though she effd up repeatedly, hello oily pastries, gluggy yoghurt soup, exploded ravioli and you're in! And they chose her because of an emotional backstory and left out a perfectly good cook who just didn't have a dramatic tear jerking story. Rigged.

    Enjoy the series guys.

So who will be the first to go?! I wonder if we'll get to see green-vomit-duck-leg girl redeem herself?
