    Default Bring a plate ideas

I have a mothers day morning tea this week at DD's kindy that I have to bring a plate too. I really want to take something savoury because there always seems to be tonnes of sweets at these type of things and I'm a savoury kinda gal! I could do sandwiches but I just wanted to do something different, would love any suggestions. Tia.

Mini quiche or mini savoury muffins with cheese, bacon or spinach. Mini meatballs.

Cob loaf is my usual go to. But I don't know if this would go to well with kindy aged kids lol. Maybe just a platter with cold cuts and celery & carrot sticks and a home made dip?

    Ed:
Maybe like cold chicken bites or something with a dip?

Mini quiches are always a winner for me.

Diced bacon, I use shortcut and dice it myself as opposed to the diced bacon you buy. Much tastier.
    Red onion, diced finely
    Mixed herbs
    4 Eggs
    Parmesan cheese
    Cheddar cheese
    Puff pastry

Use a muffin tin/mini muffin tin.
Spray the tin with olive oil
Cut the puff pastry into circles and put in holes
Beat your eggs until mixed. Add in bacon, onion, herbs and cheese.
Spoon mix into pastry, making sure you've got an even spread of bacon in each.
Bake in 200deg oven until golden

You can add a bit of cream too if you want.

WE have one this week too!

I'm taking a cold meat platter, and crackers, dip, and sliced veg (carrot and celery). It was a hit last year.

Anything I go to that has kids attending I do vegemite and cheese pinwheels. They're just a sheet of puff pastry with a spread of vegemite and grated cheese. Roll it up and cut into 1-1.5cm thick pinwheels. Bake them in the oven until they've browned. They always disappear really quickly.

    Mini crumbed chicken wings/drumettes

    Mini chicken burgers

Fish finger cups ( crumbed flat head with tartare sauce in cups)

Turkey /cucumber roll ups ( just slice cucumber into long thin strips, spread hummus on then cut a slice of Turkey the same length , stick on top and roll up so looks like a little sushi roll)

    Guacamole and corn chips

I've got DS Mother's Day morning tea Monday as well , I'm doing the turkey roll ups and a captain America fruit shield with passionfruit dip!
