So true! I've somehow managed to misplace or delete all the photos of dd straight after she was born (not on purpose!) but if I still had them I'm sure my face would be so massively swollen and blotchy!

Dh was reading the baby related bets out to me. They included what colour shirt William would wear and what the baby's future career is (that's a long time to wait for a return).

Maybe I should put a long shot on and I might have a surprise big return in 20 years.

I just wanted to comment regarding her leaving the hospital within 12 hours. I was speaking to my sister and BIL who live in London, and they said that it would have been an unwritten rule that she did leave by that time – well kempt and dressed for success as an example to the public of the expectations of how people should be when using the ‘public purse’ so to speak. They even speculated that despite having a 10 bedroom house they likely will not have a multitude of children (think Mary of Denmark) as it doesn’t set the right example – The UK at the moment are apparently giving the message loud and clear that measured family choices are best. The royals and clearly the future king are expected to lead by example.

I think this is a reminder that while her life looks perfect in every way – this idea of living your life to an expected ideal is very constraining, and would take an extreme strength of character to endure.
