We will get another Mazda, a 3 or 6 most likely. We don't really need or want a huge car, and the accident was really badly timed and basically all our spare cash is going on IVF so we don't have much we can contribute to a new one!

Good luck today @Dougy! Hope your doing ok @A&S, keeping everything crossed for you.

We bought the new mazda cx5 a couple of mths back when we started IVF, loving it!

Our 5week hcg came back at 2180, we have cautiously told our folks and keeping everything madly crossed for our wee peanut.

    That's great news @KT82

My car is a new top of its range model sedan and a very nice car. I'm really happy with it and "she" has all the things I want plus more (the car is more tech savvy than me haha). DP has a new (decent size) hatchback because we wanted both a sedan and hatch (her car comes in handy). I like that we have 2 cars because it means we can both be out if we need to. When babies come into play I would like to think DP could have a car at home with her and I could still drive to work. I'd love to upgrade to an Audi Q7 but means trading both cars in really because I wouldn't want to be paying that and one of the others off. Ugh who knows.
@rainbow road was the other car already fully paid off? It would suck having to finance a new car but hopefully the insurance money will help a bit.

We only buy our cars outright so it had no finance on it.

As a general rule, if we don't have the money to buy something we save for it, we are both pretty funny about credit cards and loans etc.

Yeah completely understand that and am the same to a certain degree. No personal loans or credit cards but we didn't have $70k to drop in cash hahaha. So car loan and mortgage is the only finance we do 😊 Are you going to buy a new car or look for a used car? Hope you find what you like really quickly!

    We will go secondhand

It's important for us to have Toby at home with one of us, so we live frugally off DPs income which doesn't leave much room for any loans.

We bought our car before I stopped working so we saved what we needed for it. We will use what we get from insurance to buy another car, and if we need to, will add a bit more from our ever dwindling savings!

Fantastic news @KT82! Fingers crossed that little bub is nice and sticky. We're your folks thrilled?

Re: cars, we have been considering an upgrade too, we do a fair bit of camping/4x4 so we like the look of the Jeeps.

So we are a BFN this month... Got the phone call about half an hour after AF arrived. Sigh... This is getting old now! Onto IVF for us, having a month break because we have to see our FS before we start and he is in Perth. I suppose we have nothing to complain about yet, I have to keep reminding myself that three months is nothing in this game 😊

Really sorry to hear that @Dougy. I hope IVF gives you a BFP, and lots of frosties for future. Do you have far to travel to Perth?
