We drilled new holes in the frame; moved the base so that the mattresses would sit level. The frames of the cot and the bed are attached with cable ties, and we got a piece of foam cut to fill in the gap down the side.
I can't tell you much about its use, given that bub is 6 months and he hasn't slept in it an awful lot (usually sleeps in the bassinet)...but it SEEMS really nice :P
