Hi all! Anyone use a side car cot for cosleeping safely?
I am pregnant with baby number 4, and already have 3 other children in a 3 bedroom house. With my last baby I slept with him on a queen size mattress on the floor in one of the other bedrooms until he didn't need me anymore, and then he slept there on his own until he moved in to his brothers room. Unfortunately this time, we won't have any rooms spare, so baby will be in our bedroom quite long term. There's no point buying a bassinet that bub will grow out of in 6 months time, because s/he'll be in our room much longer than that. A full size cot won't fit in our room, we have about 60cm width beside our bed, and while I have managed to find a couple of cots available to buy at that width, they are out of our budget. A friend has offered to give us a cot, and DH is going to put his man skills to work at making it the right size to side car it beside our bed!
I'm a bit excited about it all, and would love to see photos of other peoples side car setups.

We just had a side car bassinet (Bednest, they're so great!) which I know doesn't actually help you since you said no bassinets... (but maybe someone else is reading this who needs one!) He was in this until ~4 months and we've just bedshared since.

Our intended side car cot is still sitting on the other side of the room being used as a giant laundry shelf… :P

Subbing. I'll come back when I find my photos. It's been 2 years since we used it.
