I've had it twice, both times no periods -yay! I had it removed to TTC and ended up having twins (although they are in my family) and then went on to have another. I've decided no more for us and have had my second one put in recently. It took 18 months to conceive the twins after the mirena was taken out - which was odd. But it only took a one time oopsie to conceive number 4. So not sure if the mirena made it take longer to conceive or not.

I have never had any issues with mirena - I think it is great.

    Oh gosh.
    We have twins already.

I have read about having a higher chance of multiples post mirena.

We have them in the family, so I probably would have had them anyway. Just the fact that you have twins already - if they are fraternal that is - means that you now have a 1 in 7 chance of having fraternal twins. It is usually 1 in 160 (without IVF). So be prepared anyway. My great grandmother had 3 sets.

It's interesting, I've heard that rumour too -but when I look it up - there is no evidence to suggest that is the case at all.

    Yes ours are fraternal.
We could only trace a non-surviving set very far back on my paternal grandmothers side.

    I don't think it's true either.

But hey... If it were to happen again I have no doubt I'll be saying it was due to the mirena!!😜
