My hubby is away just near Gosford. No power and he said cyclonic winds and rain. He said it's horrendous

This is just south of there at tascott.
Public transport is iffy! Trains have stopped between hawksbury and... Hmm somewhere further north due to fallen trees. Busses are replacing them for now. Hopefully that will not stop for commuters.
The winds are picking up again and we have heavy rain.
Stay safe peeps! I know sometimes its unavoidable but they are saying please dont drive through flooded water. There were quite a few rescues needed last night.

We are in Sydney so it is just crazy wind and rain but nothing like further north. We've had an enormous tree fall across a big road though, so glad no one was injured as its right opposite a school.

It's pretty bad here but manageable. Lots of trees down, but all the ones I've seen have managed to fall away from houses instead of towards them. There was some powerlines down just now infront of the kids school, the principal was standing out there in the weather making sure no kids walked that way! Bits of flooding but nothing treacherous from what I've seen.
I'm very glad right now that I live in a ground floor unit! There's a gum tree right outside my balcony that I have been watching blow violently in the wind, but I guess if it goes I don't have to worry too much about it squishing us!

People without power are unlikely to get it back overnight. And winds of 125/h are expected again this evening/tonight.
