So was watching Cars for about 500th time this week and got to thinking - is Cars set in a post-apocalyptic world where humans and animals have become extinct and cars are now the sumpreme rulers of the earth?

Omg, I was just thinking this the other day! I put Cars on for the first time in years, and I was thinking about how "Dinoco" has a dinosaur for its logo, so if dinosaurs existed in the Cars universe, do other non-extinct animals? Cause from memory you only see a couple of little "bugs" in that movie that are actually tiny VW beetles. And yeah, if animals do exist where did the humans go? Or is the whole universe a thing where humans do exist, but the vehicles are either unaware of them or don't acknowledge them for whatever reason?

Clearly I've thought about this way too much.

*is watching Cars for the 500th time* Yes! Just made this movie interesting again..
Perhaps they are a new generation of cyborg machines, that has evolved over centuries. Humans became obsolete.. Kind of like being assimilated like the Borg. Resistance and Futile!

Have you guys ever heard of the Pixar theory? It basically links all of the Pixar movies into the same world/ universe and throws out a timeline for the order of events.
Of course, with Pixar adding in little Easter eggs in all their movies (eg Rapunzel and Flynn going to Elsa's coronation) it just adds fuel to the fire.

Anyway, talking about Dinoco made me think about it since its the same service station in toy story.

Dd2 can tell easter eggs for most pixar movies. For example, In meet the Robinsons there is a poster of woody and buzz at the baseball field.

Oh and than the original drawing room number in most of their films too.
