Ffrenchknickers, you know it is only the FTB supplement right? As in the once per year payment, not the fortnightly benefit. Yeah I know it is ridiculous that "poor people" are being blackmailed into vaccinating, however if you are wealthy enough to do without the payments, you get to make your own medical choices!

Having 5 kids over nearly 16 years now we have spoken to so many people and revisited out decision SO many times and spent countless sleepless nights over this. I'm not up for speaking to another GP, I am absolutely terrified about vaccinating my kids due to things I have seen in front of my eyes....otherwise they would be.
If I was well, this wouldn't bother me (for my family but it would for others) but this has come at a time when we actually need ftb for the first time in all our years of parenting. Maybe by the time the changes come in ill be able to be back at work. Fingers crossed.

We are not poor but we are surely not rich, you're right, it's ridiculous that the people it won't affect can continue to make their own choices as to how they medicate their children😳

I'm sorry but you are misled. Even CCB and CCR are effected so *most* if not all people are involved. Money is a powerful persuader.
If you don't want to vaccinate, fine. You are in your rights not too. No one is forcing you to with a gun to your head.
The govt just will only accept those that vaccinate as eligible for assistance.

I feel this only targets the "low income to no income" earners. For those of you saying that everyone is affected because of the ccr and ccb it STILL would affect low income earners a lot more. They quit work to look after their kids they're still screwed... high income earners could more afford the full daycare fees even if it is a big hit or if it's one parent earning the big bucks the other would be easily able to stay home. I do like the childcare benefit and childcare rebate being tossed. I would actually like to see unimmunised children banned from childcare centres and other places where young children often go altogether. Okay people have their beliefs that immunisations are too risky... I feel unimmunised children are too much of a risk for babies and young children to be around.

I can't see how anybody can argue against the facts: if you can afford to do without CCB, CCR and the supplement, than you are free to make your own medical choices. You will not be penalised and your child can still attend daycare.
If you cannot afford to do without those payments, then you are in a hard place, aren't you. Is it real choice, when it's blackmail?
Blackmail is an act, often a crime, involving unjustified threats to make a gain (commonly money or property) or cause loss to another unless a demand is met.

I find it completely reasonable to stop Childcare related payments to people who chose not to vaccinate.
I'm amazed that one is allowed at all to have their child in a community care system if not vaccinated.

But they are. If their parents can afford it. Thus, discrimination against the poor. Why not just exclude all unvaccinated children?

We've never used childcare so we aren't affected in that way whatsoever. Im TERRIFIED of vaccinating my kids as I said due to things I have seen, horrifying things , otherwise I would have. I would die for my precious children, I've had a 4 week old with whooping cough (caught from a vaccinated child who suffered way more than my baby did) It's not an easy decision and one that we still revisit all the time. At this point in time with me sick I am so grateful we can get assistance for the first time in 16 years of parenting. Forced medical intervention is not ok.
What happens when one of these kids that are now having to be vaccinated to keep their families afloat due to hitting a rough patch or whatever has a severe reaction?

Without having read the other comments, I am all for this. If you are that serious of an antivaxxer then the money shouldn't matter to you. Sure some lower income families will be pushed to vaccinate as they need the money, but if you really didn't want to vaccinate THAT MUCH you would be making every attempt to remove yourself from the lower income bracket. I don't know how to make what I wrote sound any nicer, so please don't jump down my throat if it sounds like I'm 'attacking'.
