Hi all! Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have recently just taught myself how to crochet over the holidays.

I am getting pretty good, i think. :P

I have been making random little things like beanies and appliques and such.
As I continue make new things and learn new stuff, I decided I will donate everything I make in the first 6 months to a hospital.

    Beautiful work everyone!
    I crochet, a lot!
I have a small online business making handcrafted gifts, mostly crochet.
    It saves my sanity.

Youtube is my friend. I watched Jayda InStitches and learned how to do the basics, starting with the granny square. I just kept making those until I moved on to something else, eventually I started being able to pick up the lingo, get faster and eventually move on to other youtuber videos, and understand what they were doing and saying. Still got a lot to learn.
Most videos will tell you which hooks and wool to use. But most seem to like the 4-5mm hook.
My main thing now is learning how to read patterns.

I taught myself from YouTube about a year and a half ago. Best decision I ever made.
    Crochet is my happy place...
