Does anyone crochet?

I was taught single, double and treble crochet by a work colleague over lunch and went home and made a granny square with the help of the internet.

For my first project, I went hard core and made a baby blanket for my niece complete with 3D flowers. Yeesh! I will be starting one for my own belly babe soon. Just trying to finalise the design I want to do. ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1446352956.648434.jpg

I have started to learn to crochet by watching YouTube videos. I made a little beanie and matching booties for a friends baby shower but haven't finished anything else yet. I have so many things I want to learn to make I don't know where to begin!

Like you girls I find the yarn choices here a bit dull, but locally we only have spotlight, so I haven't really checked out lincraft or any alternatives.


I really need to go looking for some alternative yarn for the next part of this project.

I really want to learn to make toys - any hints/tips for learning? I've tried looking up videos but most of what I can find for toys are patterns which I can't quite understand at this stage.

I mostly use patterns, I'm not the best at following videos.
My best advice would be though
Ignore how complicated it looks. Take it one stitch at a time and it's much easier.
