    Just quietly, next time Dinner is on your FIL you should order 2 entrees and two mains then have them to take away if you can't finish it all 😉

    Agree, weird and rude.

    I would have smiled while he ordered and then announced "OH FIL that is so generous thank you for offering to by EVERYONE a drink. I'll have a cocktail pls! Everyone tell FIL what you would like".

    there is never a next time. we would be lucky if they ever shout us a coffee let alone a dinner. it's not like they are short of a $. In fact they are extremely wealthy but it's not the point. I just found it odd and rude to do that.. ive never seen him do it before.. it was for dh's 40th birthday/family dinner. mind you FIL is supposed to be on a diet for his bad back/knees problem. some diet!!
    it's the last time we will be shouting for dinner I can tell you all that.

    oh who am I kidding?! this is a man who was extremely rude at a wedding, extremely drunk and having eaten a few dinner rolls from the table whilst dinner was starting to get served at the venue (because his didn't come quick enough -) was shouting and cursing that ''this is b-s...t, I'm hungry'' then looking around for us at our table which was a fair bit away and doing the cut throat motion.... BELIEVE IT OR NOT -the ppl whose wedding it was still speak to him. it was beyond mortifying. Mil does nothing.

    @ degrassi - oh yep he is. no friends either because of his big mouth. and he always thinks its someone else's fault. THANK god my dh and BIL are nothing like him.
