    It's partly just "knowing" she was likely to have been rotting away. Going by the smell anyway.
    @Elijahs Mum if we were to eventually rent it out are we obliged to tell the tenants? I know as a buyer we are obliged to be told.

    it would really depend on the house if was an awesome house at a good price then yes

    Yep I would if it felt ok but I'd be giving it a damn good cleansing.

    Natural causes wouldn't worry me, in fact I think my rental in the city had someone die in it. Suspicious stain on the carpet, funny smell and in an area surrounded by old people.
    The house we live in now is over 100 so no doubt if a person didn't die here there would have been one laid out at some point - but probably also some babies born in it too.

    The house is OK, large block. Needs a very good clean, a large crack tending to (will check it's not a structure issue first though), landscaping, a good coat of paint throughout, new flooring throughout and some work on the gutters. All stuff we could do very easily ourselves. Fixed up nicely it would be comparable to houses 50-100k more in price. But financially it will be tight all round.

    If it's a large block is there development opportunity later?
    Once all that's done the smell won't even be there, just open windows, and bleach the buggery out of it

    Knowing where your from EM I think I remember that incident. I was really horrified cause one of the girls was a year below me in school.

    I'm glad to know they are moving on and didn't have an issue selling their house (assuming it's the same kids)
