I find a good way to lessen the amount of kids toys/junk etc messing up the house is to only put a certain amount of toys out at a time and keep the rest away in tubs and rotate them.
Another idea of an evening once the kids are in bed is to pack all kids toys and mess from the lounge into a washing basket and then put that aside to put away the next day.
But yes housework and washing just feels like groundhog day.
With the washing I have a set of wire shelves in the laundry so when i bring the dry washing inside I fold and stack it into piles for each person and leave them on the shelves until i find the time to put in away.
An ironing board would work just as well too for stacking folded washing.
