Default Is anyone taking clomid and not having monthly scans?

I have been given a prescription for clomid (25mg) and the gp is happy for me to start it and then come back and see her in 6 months if I'm still not pregnant.

I have been reading on here and most people on clomid are having a scan once a month to make sure there is nothing wrong. Only one egg etc.

I can't afford a scan once a month and gp said I didn't need it.

Has anyone else taken clomid without being monitored every month with a scan?

    Thanks in advance

Yes for first baby I was on 50mg no scans only had one blood test to see that it worked.
This time I have been upped to 100mg and still not being scanned either I had 6 cycles and one blood test to make, sure I was ovulating so I think some docs want it some dont. I wouldn't care if I had 2 or 3 babies at once so I dont mind

Thanks everyone! Does anyone know if these scans can be bulk billed?

I was on clomid before my first bub. It didn't work that well for me and i moved onto injections which I've gone straight onto this time. I was tracked with blood tests and ultrasounds every single cycle and didn't pay for any. All bulk billed. My specialist referred me to the fertility centre here and the nurses do all the blood tests and scans. They call my specialist on the days i get them done with my results and she advises what i need to keep doing.

I pay $400 fixed fee clomid monitoring which includes bloods with same day results and scans through Genea and the nurses are great.
