Hi ladies. Does anyone have any recommendations for Gynaecologists in the southern suburbs of Adelaide? I have just been diagnosed with pcos and my GP will now refer me for fertility treatment. Would love to hear of anyone who has helped you or made you feel comfortable. Many thanks 😊

For fertility treatment you'll likely need to see a fertility clinic rather than ob-gyn as they're specialists in the field there's a lot more they can do and more knowledgable. I have pcos and went through flinders fertility. Fertility clinic doesn't have to = ivf but they will at least start with appropriate screening for you and your partner.
You only need a referral from your gp to the fertility clinic you don't need to see a gynae first 😀

Thanks @gingermillie. I think my dr wants to refer me to a gynae for clomid? I'll definitely check out flinders fertility though - thank you.

I started on clomid at flinders fertility - my ob wouldn't prescribe it as you should have scans/ monitoring throughout cycle whilst on clomid to check response and reduce risk of multiples. Also unless your partner has been fully checked with a semen analysis and you've had a full work up hysterosalpingogram there's no point doing clomid and getting you to ovulate if your tubes are blocked or partner has low/abnormal sperm. A fertility clinic will confirm if anovulation is the problem so you can go from there. A clomid cycle at flinders fertility including all monitoring was about $500 from memory.

Wonderful - thank you so much! There's only so much you can get from a 15 min GP appointment. I appreciate your experience and advice.
