Default Tickle / scratch in my throat

I have this annoying sore throat that has been going on for days. I can't sleep until 1am because of the tickling / scratching in my throat.
What can I take to help
During the day I suck on the lozenges, but I can't at night while I am trying to fall asleep.
Do I need to go to the GP? I feel ok, just husky voice and tired from lack of sleep. I don't think it's something I need antibiotics for.

Black licorice is great for sore throats and coughs, but it must be real licorice like the darrell lea one not just licorice flavoured. Eat some a couple of times a day

*****Warning**** pregnant women should NOT eat black licorice

    Wink Vicks Vapour Rub

Hi, I read this article somewhere, so I thought I'd try it - and it worked!

Get a tiny tiny amount of Vicks Vapour rub on the tip of your little finger and put it at the very back of your throat. Apparently, there's no taste buds there so you shouldn't be able to taste it. Do this before you go to sleep at night. Throat tickle should be gone by the next morning.

I've done that twice now (when I can feel a sore throat/cold coming on), it worked both times.

Get some cepacaine from the chemist and gargle right before bed. It will numb you throat, works everytime! ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1426222036.470706.jpg

Depends how bad it is. I would have some now and some about an hour before you go to bed. I usually find it works overnight.
