My friend worked there a few years ago and gave me a good tip. If you ask them to lift the tub containing XYZ salad or meat item and show you the label date they have to. So whenever we eat there I always ask lol. Im sure our local one sees me come in and argues who has to serve me lol.

I once had a sub that honestly smelled like garbage. It took me years to give Subway another chance again! Even now it's a rarity that I'll get a sub - the only one I order is the pizza sub.

Subway isn't even that bad for you. I dont know why people lump it with other take aways. The only thing in them that makes them a 'bad' option is people loading them up with cheese and creamy sauces. Other than that its bread salad and meat.. its pretty healthy in the scheme of things. The breads if you dont get white aren't full of anything more than any other bread, their wraps have more calories than the bread tbh

Why I don't like Subway, well, the smell of the bread grosses me out mostly. & I don't eat much bread anyway usually. & also in high school (ok, so that was years ago, things could've changed!) a friend of mine worked there, & all their salads were brought in pre-chopped in plastic bags with super-long use by dates, so god knows what they use to keep it "fresh"....
